Leather Bag Care Guide & 2-Year Warranty Terms

Genuine leather is a living material; with proper care, it becomes more beautiful over the years and accompanies you for a lifetime. In this guide, you can find how to care for your Gillario bags and the coverage of the 2-year Gillario Craftsmanship Warranty.

1. Our ingredients

  • Genuine Calfskin: Processed using the vegetable tanning method; develops a unique patina over time.
  • 16oz Water-Repellent Canvas: Creates a natural barrier against light rain.
  • Stainless Antique Brass Buckles: Resistant to oxidation, develops a noble appearance over time.
  • Metal Zippers: Long-lasting, smooth, and durable zipper performance.
  • Italian Sewing Thread: High-strength, rot-resistant hand stitching.

2. Daily Maintenance

  • Gently wipe off surface dust with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Do not overfill the bag; use its volume in a balanced way to prevent it from losing its shape.
  • When not in use, fill it with stuffing material and store it in its dust bag.
  • Protect the bag from direct sunlight and excessively humid environments.

3. Skin Care

  • Apply a colorless, natural moisturizing leather cream every 3-4 months.
  • Apply a small amount of cream using circular motions; remove any excess with a clean cloth.
  • Keep the leather surface away from alcohol, acetone, perfume, solvents, and abrasive chemicals.
  • Leather naturally deepens in color over time; this is not a defect, but character.

4. Water-Repellent Canvas Care

  • Wipe superficial stains with lukewarm water and neutral soap using a soft cloth.
  • Do not rub the canvas surface; dab the stain to remove it.
  • Leave the wet canvas to dry at room temperature; do not use a direct heat source.
  • With prolonged use, the water-repellent surface may become dull; this is natural.

5. Wetting and Drying

When your bag gets wet, leave it to dry at room temperature without exposing it to a direct heat source. Never dry wet leather with a hair dryer or on a radiator; this will cause the leather to crack and lose its shape. Once dry, we recommend conditioning it with a moisturizing leather cream.

6. Storage

When you are not using your bag, maintain its shape by stuffing it with soft filler material and store it in the dust bag provided with the product. A cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment is ideal. Avoid long-term storage in plastic bags.

8. Warranty Claim

You can apply for your warranty claim by emailing your order number and photos of the product to info@gillario.com. Our team will evaluate your request and get back to you as soon as possible. You can also receive paid support from our workshop for repairs outside the scope of the warranty.
